Education

Having spent over 7 years as an educator & teacher at both university & technical institute level, Sabina passionate about education and learning, a professional speaker and presenter of educational material.

"You can never stop your own personal development and growth without ongoing curiosity to find out more about those topics that interest you".

Sabina firmly believes that good horse husbandry, including horse training & riding that is fair to the horse, and puts the horse and its physical and mental well-being first needs to be based on a proper theoretical understanding of the principles of training and the biomechanics of correct horse movement. If you want to learn more about the details of biomechanics and why certain approaches work better than others, why a horse will stay sound and free from fatigue or over stress related injuries with certain training methods, get in touch to organize a seminar or talk.

Riding lessons & in Hand training

Individual riding lesson following age-old classical principles are my speciality. These can be part of a clinic or singular (Waikato area only). Clinics to groups of 4+ participants can be organised anywhere in NZ.

Learn the WHY and HOW of in-hand training to support the development balance and straightness of your horse.

Learn how to lunge correctly

Lunging is not just running your horse around in a circle to make it tired. Benefits of lunging, when done correctly include:

  • musculo-skeletal conditioning

  • straightness training

  • mental relaxation

  • learning early correct postural habits for preparation of riding

  • building topline

  • rehabilitation training

  • useful to check on training progress under saddle

As with so many things, good lunging is about HOW to do it correctly & what to look for to be certain you are doing it correctly, choosing the right equipment, knowing HOW to use it and WHY to use it.
Ask me about individual, customized training for you and your horse.
